| Thor Helical Wall Ties |
|
Thin joint wall ties are engineered to provide a reliable and cost effective helical wall tie system for use in aircrete (Thermalite, Celcon, Xella, etc.), in timber frame and in other construction situations where it is not possible to bed in both ends of the wall ties as the wall is built.
Where the back-up wall is of hard material, for example is the concrete part of Insulated Concrete Formwork, the provision of a fine pilot-hole in the ICF allows the same basic helical tie fastening technique to be used. These stainless steel spiral walls ties combine great axial strength with lateral flexibility to deliver a mechanical interlock connection that is not affected by moisture or temperature variations. Thor Helical wall ties for thin joint masonry construction have been independently measured for dynamic stiffness and meet the sound insulation requirements of Building Regulations Part E for a Type B tie (<113MN/m3) taking both cavity width and tie density into account.

Used in sustainable and thermally efficient buildings, the helical thin joint ties are simply hammered in. The blade-like threads of the tie cut a precise interlocking penetrative path into the host wall material providing a rapid and efficient inner leaf wall tie fixing for Thermalite, Celcon, Xella or similar aircrete block. Suitable also for use as timber frame ties when driven into wood studs. The other end of the cavity wall ties are embedded into the outer leaf bed joint as the wall is built.
